Night Rover Challenge

NASA has signed an agreement with the California-based Cleantech Open to manage the Night Rover Challenge, one of the agency's Centennial Challenges prize competitions.

About the Challenge

To demonstrate a solar-powered exploration vehicle that can operate in darkness using its own stored energy. The prize purse is $1.5 million. Detailed rules and plans will be announced in the coming months. The competition is expected to occur in 2012-13. More information at www.NightRover.org and www.nasa.gov/challenges
